I purchased this cover for its advertising banner. I found no evidence on the internet that the company still exists, but South American advertising covers are of general interest to me. My rather poor Spanish tells me this cover is from a manufacturer of agricultural and industrial machinery and tools. Based on the addressee, my guess is Famagrin was seeking a U.S. market for its products. The postmark is not clear enough to date the cover, but the stamps were issued in 1954 and 1956. The 40 centavos airmail is from the 1954 definative set Sc. C239-C253, and the 5 centavos stamps are from from the Departmental set of 1956, Sc. 644-665. So, the cover was posted no earlier than 1956 and probably mailed in the mid- to late-1950s.
